Boys Night Out was the first band to use the PictAR Augmented Reality (AR) Video Messaging System to connect with their audience. Stay updated and gain access to contests, giveaways and content UNAVAILABLE ANYWHERE ELSE!
The original Boys Night Out PictAR (limited to 1000 copies) was included as a complimentary insert with the Parting Gift Records/Take This To Heart Records repress of Trainwreck. It was the first time that the PictAR Digital Media Augmented Reality (AR) Video Messaging System had been deployed on a mass scale, and was intended to test the system.
The PictAR presents an AR video message to thank fans, create a call to action, and announce the value of holding on to the PictAR in order to receive future updates from the band. The image tracker – which is also a sticker – is branded with original artwork by frontman Connor Lovat-Fraser and designed to look like a standard piece of band merch. An AR experience is triggered by scanning the QR code, which features the BNO logo. A custom branded 3D frame surrounds the video message when the AR experience is triggered.
